“Man is equally incapable of seeing the nothingness from which he emerges and the infinity in which he is engulfed.” ~ Blaise Pascal
“It is by studying little things that we attain the great art of having as little misery and as much happiness as possible.” ~ Samuel Johnson
“In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.” ~ Margaret Atwood
“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird, I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.” ~ George Eliot
There are a host of adjectives and phrases used to describe my blog’s content:
“I’m going to seriously blow chunks.”
Then along comes Jess of A Winsome Journey. She did the unexpected. She called my blog lovely. Lovely. Awww. I just don’t know what to say!
Of course, I couldn’t agree more (not for the sake of my blog, though, but for my subjects). In fact, she took one big step beyond lovely and nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award. Thank you, Jess! That means a lot coming from someone who has a truly lovely and beautiful blog.
Just for grins, I did an actual search of all of the comments that have ever happened upon my posts since January for the word “lovely.” Until Jess, it happened exactly twice. Both times the word was used in conjunction with someone’s feelings rather than to describe some facet of my blog. That’s twice. In four months of blogging.
Now, it’s fair to say that I think bugs, reptiles, drawings of stick figure people eating poop, and the stuff that comes out of bathroom sinks are all lovely in their own right. I just never thought anyone else thought so too. So Jess, it’s nice to know we’re on the same page here.
